Key West Artist, Kate Peachey
Born in Springfield Ohio, Kate Peachey has been involved in art since the age of seven. She studied commercial art at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, fine art at the University of Cincinnati, and has taken numerous classes at Florida Keys Community College. She received the Anne Mckee Artist Grant in 1999 and the Art Reach Grant from
The Florida Keys Council Of The Arts in 2001.

“Painting has always been my passion, I love to paint on anything!”
That she does; metal trays, flower pots and found wood objects are transformed under her brush, but portraits on wood and canvas are her favorite.

“I love people... I love to look at their faces. I want to paint what is beyond the smile on the surface, go further than a snapshot in time to paint a whole life, an attitude about life.”

In Key West, Kate has done one woman shows at The Woodenhead Gallery,
The Catch and Stone Soup Gallery. She has participated in group shows at The Wave Gallery,
Key West, Atlanta and Savannah, Georgia, Yellow Springs, Ohio and New Orleans, Louisiana.

Her Work has been featured on The Morning Show and The Today Show.
Kate lives in old town Key West with her husband guitarist Captain Carl Peachey.
